WRITING

Prince has written journalism and creative nonfiction for publications ranging from Teen Vogue, Vice, AfroPunk, The Appeal, CodaStory, and beyond on social movements, film, queer culture, and police/prison systems. He is versed in column writing, has written copy for various community organizations, produced biographies for the In Our DNA poster campaign based in Cleveland, OH, and penned a documentary script trailer for a Shorepoint Productions project.

Shakur has spoken to hundreds of high schoolers about the impact of black literature, more specifically the work and significance of the queer, black writer, James Baldwin; as well as providing resources for up-incoming writers online through his newsletter and videos. He is a 2022 Literary Death Match winner.

Prince is the creator, host, and editor of The Creative Hour Podcast, which hosts conversations between artists across mediums and is broadcast by Verge.FM, and The Black Reading Hour. He has also contributed to NOCTURNAL, an audio installation featured in the AFTER STONEWALL Exhibit at the Columbus Museum of Art. He currently co-hosts The Dugout, a podcast of Black anarchist conversations.

INTERVIEWER/HOST

From 2016 to 2018, Prince hosted various short documentaries for “Two Woke Minds”. In 2019, he hosted a Q&A for the BURNING CANE film premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival. He has participated in numerous panels on community organizing, voting, and far-leftism. He loves unpacking deep cultural and creative topics with filmmakers, grassroots organizers, creatives, artists, activists, and beyond.
